Today’s appointment went excellent!!! We are at 31 weeks and 3 days today. We had an ultrasound to see the baby’s growth and I’m proud to say they are OVER the 4 pound mark!!! I was hoping for 3 ½! Baby A is 4 lbs 7 oz. and Baby B is 4 lbs 1 oz. SO that means I have 8 lbs 8 oz if babies in me, that’s why I feel SO huge!!!:) It’s a good huge though. When Dr. Barsoom walked into the room, he said “WHAT are you eating!” I said protein and ice creamJ
I’m so happy and relieved that we’ve made it this far and they are a great size already, who knows just how big they’ll get now. Contractions are under control and cervix is measuring in the ok range. I don’t even see Dr. Barsoom until July 12th when they will do another ultrasound. He said I don’t have to monitor contractions twice a day anymore starting Monday, only if I feel like there are too many or picking up. I think I can tell that pretty well now. I’m still on the trusty pump though, that will be right up until the end. I’m still on bedrest.
Now to the really fun stuff. The babies are so fun to watch on the ultrasound! Baby A stuck her tongue out and Baby B has one of her leg/foot right by her sister’s head! Amazing since they are both head down. Quite the acrobat alreadyJ We got a 4-D picture of Baby B’s face. Baby A wouldn’t cooperate. But B is SO cute already, and I have to admit she look like her daddy. Oh—and they both have some hair, isn’t that crazy you can “see” hair on an ultrasound!?
I have to go in 2 times a week to my regular OB for non-stress tests (just on a heart monitor for 30 minutes), to make sure that they aren’t getting “stressed” Good thing they don’t hook me up to see if I’m stressed!
So, overall it was a great appointment, with fun pictures (I’m going to try to take a picture of the 4-D picture, we’ll see if it turn out and I’ll post it) and great news!
Brian and I have a “First Time Parents Class” tonight up at Bergan. Should be interesting considering Brian’s never changed a diaper! I figured it can’t hurt since we both really have no idea what we’re doingJ. I think we’ll learn a lot in 2 hours!
