tube date set

Klaire has another ear infection--I mean, seriously!? I think it's the same one, just never completely clearing up-yep that's Dr. Erika's diagnosis. Grace does not have one currently, but has had just as many as Klaire in the past. Anyway, the ENT said most parents that are "on the fence" about whether or not to put tubes, especially in the summer months, just need one more infection to push them over the edge. Well, he was right. I talked with the Pediatrician we saw yesterday too (not our regular one-but I liked him very much too...he sat with Klaire for 20 minutes getting her to calm down enough to get a good listen to her lungs) on his opinion about tubes. He agreed to get them: the benefits greatly outweigh the risks, and he thinks the fluid in their ears is probably hindering their hearing (and speech) more than we know. We'll see. Anyway, the date is set for June 8th- for both girls...barring any sickness. Wish us luck!

I had tubes in my ears, many, many years ago and they really helped. The surgery will be harder on mom and dad than anything. :( Keep us posted.

Good luck! Let us all know how everything goes. I really hope it helps the girls from getting more ear infections...for their sake and yours!

Hang in there and good luck! My little nephew is on his fourth set and his speech GREATLY improved after the first set of tubes. It was like night and day...my brother/sister-in-law realized how much more he heard after tubes.

Good luck! I am sure they will feel much better. Just remember surgery is harder on you than them.
ARe they both getting them the same day? Also, they are grumpy with the anesthesia but it wears off fairly quickly. Hope we get to see you guys while we are up there.
