long and lean

I get an automated email from babycenter, I started them when I was pregnant, they track the development of the baby and were always reassuring, especially while trying to keep those girls in! Anyway, I still get them as they track the girls all the way through 9 years I think (I cannot think that far ahead!!) The subject of this email was "Long and Lean."

"A 2-year-old still retains plump vestiges of toddler body proportions. But this year your child will grow taller and longer-limbed. To fuel this growth, you'll want to keep an eye on good nutrition. Three meals and two snacks per day is a good guideline, but don't worry too much if your 2-year-old seems to subsist on crackers and air. Provide healthy choices and let her experiment without forcing.

Soon your child will begin looking more like a "big kid," as her limbs and torso start to lengthen and her proportions begin to resemble those of an adult. She'll gain about 2 1/2 inches and 5 pounds this year."

It made me think of Klaire and the fact that I haven't posted their "stats" from their 2 year checkup. The checkup that they literally screamed and protested every step of the way through. Anyway--Miss Klaire is approx 2 inches taller than our Grace! She's in the 93rd percentile for height! I'll have to add in the rest of the stats later as that's the only number I can really remember...but isn't that nuts!?? I never thought I'd have a tall kid. She is quite lanky and it's apparent when trying to pick her up and do the same acrobatic flips and moves that Grace loves to do, the silly goose can't figure out how to get those long legs to tuck and curl!

Now it's time to knock on some wood. Figuratively speaking. The girls HAVE NOT BEEN SICK FOR 2 MONTHS. Can you remember what occurred about 2 months ago?? Yes, the heaven sent tubes. Thank God for tubes, and ENTs, and insurance:) Sure we've had a couple runny noses...but that's it. I realize it's summer, but last summer they were sick all the way through, so this is totally awesome!!!

Ok, please knock for me.

Here's some pictures from my camera phone (not bad eh?) from one of our weekend picnics as our life as nomads while there was showings at our house...the girls were asking for a nap!!!
