Yes they are almost 4, and no they've not been to the dentist yet. I know. I know. But we went today and they did FANTASTIC! We've been talking it up for a few weeks now since I made the appt, and they knew pretty much what to expect. I wasn't so sure what to expect! I thought maybe we'd just go for a ride in the chair, get a new toothbrush and call it a day. But they did everything, the whole shebang! Mostly thanks to our wonderful hygienist Jen. She's awesome, and as you can tell from the pictures there were no tears. They got their teeth counted, sparkled (cleaned), flossed, checked for cavities, and fluoride! Grace did get a little uneasy when she had to get back in the chair for the Dentist to check her over again, and wouldn't quite open her mouth very wide...but overall, they once again surprised me (maybe I should stop assuming they'll be scared!?) Klaire giggled the whole time. They got to pick out a "prize" and K picked a squirt gun, Grace a pack of gum.
The only bummer is Klaire has a cavity, way in the back of one tooth. I tried to get out of it mentioning they fall out anyway right?? to which Dr Cassie replied "yes, when she's 12" Point taken. So we'll be back for a filling and hope she does as well the second time around!

Eastyn had a cavity on her 1st visit. The dentist told her he was going to clean her teeth again and then filled it without even numbing her! She did great and got another prize! She did say after that it hurt a little - I told her they put a bandaid on her tooth because it was hurt :) She bought it!
Abbie-I told her the exact same thing! Great minds think alike:) She was totally cool with it, but Grace had a cow that "she can't keep a band-aid in her mouth!!!!"
Being a dentist, I cheat and clean the boys teeth myself...I always wonder when I will let someone else try.
