As I prepare to send out invitations to a fourth birthday party, I struggle to realize that this party is for OUR 4 year olds! My babies are going to be 4! Cliche as it sounds, where did the time go? They are not babies anymore, that's for sure and developing into little ladies, with personality, sense of humor, OPINIONS, and smarts. I hardly even update on what they are "doing" anymore-it seems that milestones are less interesting, and less often as they get older. But for old times sake and a bit of nostalgia:
Klaire: Our little lady bug. Klaire is a sweet, and most of the time polite little girl. She likes things to be fair and "right" even if it doesn't benefit her. She has character and class at a young age. Some of her favorite toys are baby dolls, any kind of ball especially a blown up beach ball that can be seen flying through the house at warp speed, and playing dress up. Klaire LOVES to run, and does so with conviction of an Olympic sprinter. She recently perfected a somersault, even though mommy was sure she were going to break her neck doing so. She still has a good 2 inches on Grace, although just recently she is catching up a bit. She is our tall lanky girl, and strong to boot. Daddy says sports are in her future (but only if you want to Klaire). She is horribly allergic to mosquito bites and swells up with even one bite, yuck. She doesn't miss a meal, and some favorites are still mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, broccoli, cheeseburgers, tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream, chips and MILK. Klaire likes to read books and make up a sing songy story about what is going on in the pages. I love to listen to what she comes up with as it usually involves a mean sister. She also likes to count random objects, but we are still stuck on 20.
Grace: Our little bumblebee. When Grace is in a room, you will know it. Loud since birth, and now with the vocabulary of an adult, there is not a time when this girl is not chattering, loudly. Grace has an amazing imagination and can often be found role playing, usually she's the baby and Klaire is the mommy. She also loves to play with her baby dolls, and has a soft place in her heart for stuffed animals (especially Genevieve). She also loves to play dress up and randomly will be missing for awhile up in the playroom putting on as much "princess stuff" as she possible can, necklaces, rings, tiara's, anklets, etc. Her favorite thing to to outside is run through the sprinkler, and has no problem running full fledged through the middle at top speed. Grace is itty bitty and can still wear some 2T pants. She is still an ok eater, and some of her favs include: grilled cheese, oatmeal, dry cereal, tomatoes, salad, croutons, guacamole, salsa, chips, mac n cheese, and MILK. Grace loves her cartoons, and movies-and can often be bribed to clean up an entire playroom to watch one! She loves books, and has to read before bed and keep Klaire awake with the light on to be able to "see the words."
The girls start preschool and dance class in the Fall. Both of which they are totally excited for (even if they have to wear a BLACK leotard). They will be in separate classes for preschool, so that will be an adjustment, but a good one I think. The time away from each other, we are hoping, will give them a break and maybe cut down on some of the sisterly bickering that goes on?? We can only hope. If nothing else it will be a good test of what to do for Kindergarten. Oh boy, don't even get me started on thinking about KINDERGARTEN!
To say these girls are the light of my life is an understatement. To say they are the challenge of my life, is also. My babies are going to be four and what an amazing ride these four years have been.

That just made me teary-eyed. What lucky little ladies they are to have an amazing mommy like you.
Erika, I can't believe they are going to be four either. Seems like just yesterday we were expectantly, nervously and 'on pins and needles' counting down (or up)the weeks, just seeing how long you could make it, and you did beautifully. You did absolutely everything you needed to (hospital stays, really ICKY medicine, meds in your leg every 15 minutes at home (you know I could go on!)to keep those babies from being born too early. Just like you and Brian have raised them to be the darling, rambunctios, curious about everything, sweet and loveable little girls that they are. I think I can speak for all of our family--they are the loves of our lives and we look so forward to watching them grow up, but just not too fast! Love you all, Mom C.
I think I'm going to cry too, Anne. How sweet was that! They are very lucky little girls. I'm glad I was able to see them when I was back. I had fun hanging out! "sharing is caring".. lol.
