Our baby boy is 3 months today! 3 months seems like a milestone to me. When I brought him in to his 2 week check worried about keeping him well during cold and flu season, and his constant congestion, I remember the doctor saying when we get him to 3 months you can worry less. Whew, we made it! I don't worry less, but Spring is in sight and he has had just one ear infection. Not too shabby I guess. The little guy is just plain adorable and we just love him to pieces. His favorite spot to be most of the time is held right on my hip, facing out. When I get home from work, he eats then is ready to assume this position for the rest of the night. Lordy, he's getting heavy. I will be thankful when this phase is over, but also I'm sure will miss it when he doesn't want to be held! I would say our chunky monkey is around 15 pounds. He eats about 6 times a day, more on the weekends when I pretty much let him nurse on demand. Still, that's about every 3 hours now. Nursing is going well, it's getting much easier just like they said it would. We really don't have any issues and I'm SO thankful for that. He hasn't had any formula at all in at least a month when I went back to work he had a couple ounces here and there, but now I've got a nice stockpile going in the freezer! He's typically getting up once a night around 3am to eat then goes back to sleep for a couple hours. Every once in awhile he sleeps all night, a couple weeks ago it was about 4 nights in a row and I thought we were in the home stretch, but no. He must still need that night feeding, and I'm ok with it:) The latest development is that he found that he has a tongue! Loves to stick it out and reach around with it, also the hands are in the mouth a lot. Oh and the hands, we are staring at them quite a bit wondering what the heck these cool things are!!!? Poor kiddo is getting that bald spot in the back of his head, looks like a backwards old man.
He makes no attempts to roll yet, but does love to get down to a diaper and kick those roly poly legs. He's started to giggle if you tickle and makes lots of noise. He smiles a ton, and reminds me so much of Grace as a baby. That big huge open mouth smile. He changes it up with a sideways smirk sometimes too, and that reminds me of Klaire! I guess he's a good combination of the two. They love their brother and going back to being less freaked out about him getting really sick, I'm letting them do more with him. It still drives me nuts when they always touch his hands, and have to put their faces within inches of his, but I guess kids just do that. There's the update on Mr Henry Parker. He's amazing, cute, silly...a perfect little addition to our family.
I'm going to have to take his 3 month pictures this weekend, I have the cutest hat to try!!!:)
