It's the last day of school today already! The girls are officially 2nd graders! This year went so quickly...I think I say that every year but honestly I can remember vividly the first day of school and Grace being a little anxiety ball until we got down to the school and found her buddy Luke. She has made great strides this year not only academically but socially. She's really found herself and her likes and dislikes (a bit to my dismay). The phase of "boy stuff" is still around, and she'll only wear blue, green, black and the like. Every once in a while I see some pink shining through, but not much. Klaire has come out of her shell a bit. She loves to read and is doing so at a 2nd grade level! She is still shy around people but seems to have more friends and even a couple boys came to the door the other day asking for her. It was hilarious...I let her go out on the front porch and they all 3 just stared at each other for about 5 minutes and that was that. She later said "that was fun!" Um ok. She's definitely our quirky girl, with some strange habits and phases like needing her hair in a bun for days straight, or only wearing mismatched socks. Overall it was a very successful 1st grade year and we're kinda sad to leave their fantastic teachers. We can only hope we get lucky again next year...bring on summer!
