Henry is 2!

Henry Parker is 2! He was not feeling well on his birthday and although I try not to miss work unless they can absolutely not go to daycare he did not have to twist my arm to spend the day home with him.  We laid low, and I basically let him do whatever he wanted, a 2 year old's dream :)

At 2 we are seeing signs of tantrums, although he is typically very even tempered and sweet.  As long as you can provide a reasonable compromise to most requests, he's happy. The girls say he gets whatever he wants, but they aren't remembering what there lives were like at 2.  His favorite treat is fruit snacks and suckers, and on the healthier side of the pyramid: yogurt, applesauce, avocados, cheese and green beans. He weighs 26lbs 4 oz and is 34.25 inches long. We are back on the 50% chart these days. He never ended up having to get tubes, we just barely made it! He is madly in love with his bubba, a white and grey polka dot blanket, or should I say grey and darker grey at this point. I bought a look alike, which he quickly figured out and has named "new bubba" -smarty pants. He love penguins and makes a silly noise to say the word while waddling. He makes attempts to say Klaire and Grace(ie), and says a couple new words every day! On the short list: NO!, daddy (which hardly actually means daddy), juice, please, MINE, mama, puppy, yellow, my bubba, more, papa, truck, big, ....

We aren't attempting potty training just yet, although he is very curious about the process.  I'm not interested in starting and regressing like we did with Klaire, so we'll wait till he's SUPER ready. We read books every night and he's very specific about which ones he wants and DOES NOT want to read.  There's no pattern I can find, but he's adamant that some nights we simply cannot read Goodnight Moon, and other nights he can't possible sleep without it!  Speaking of sleep Henry gloriously sleeps 10-11 hours at night and usually naps from 1-4 if at home.  There's a sleeper if I've ever seen one! He's making up for our sleepless first year, I think.
We are loving this little man so much. I always say it, but he's the perfect completion to our family and I can't believe we were so lucky have him!
