giggles and babbles

I always say the girls amaze me every day. They do something new everyday, and lately they get that sparkle in their eye-like hmmm I think I just figured something out!!! Grace is going to take off any day...tonight I counted 15 steps complete with starting and stopping! Klaire pushes her scooter at lightening speed tearing through the house with a look of determination that she's had since she was born. Anyway, interacting. They think it's really cool to go down the hall and sit in their room just the two of them. I let them be alone for a couple minutes but my mind wanders as to what they are getting into (taking EVERY shoe they own out of the cabinet). So tonight Klaire went in there first, and started hollering apparently for Grace, Grace sped in there, and a few minutes later I hear two belly laughs! They were rolling laughing about who knows what. I peeked in and they were taking turns touching each others hair and giggling like it was the funniest thing they'd ever seen. I think it was the cutest thing I've ever seen:)--They continued this hair thing into the bathtub, when it was even funnier when wet!-- We spend alot of time keeping them out of each others way and not annoying each other, so to see them want to be close and giggling like that brightened my day!!!!!! It also gave me hope they will play together someday!!!!!!

I never did post their 1 year checkup stats. The main thing is they are right on track:) Grace weighed 21 lbs 14 oz. and Klaire was 22 lbs 4 oz. I think that's right. Shows how not worried I am about their weights! They continue to be good eaters, and transistioning pretty well off formula on to milk, and sippy cups. We aren't giving up bottles quite yet-at least in the morning and at night...and forget about Grace giving up that paci any time soon. I told myself I'm not buying any more. So I'd better keep good track of them!

I am waiting for them to start babbling and talking a bit more. Grace just started ma ma ma's and Klaire has put a few 2 syllable babbles together. They definitely know words we say and can locate objects by name (book, ball, Ollie, ladybug, show (baby einstein), bottle, paci, etc). We read every night (LOVE Goodnight Moon) and try to get a couple more books in throughout the day. I should do more-life is just to hectic. No excuse though...So I'll wait to hear some words, in time I know they'll be talking our ears off, be patient mommy...
