rotate and repeat

Update!  Not one peep out of them last night. See! No pattern whatsoever...oh well-I'll take it!:)

Last night we were back to the "fun" of the girls not sleeping. Actually it started with Brian snoring because he has a cold that kept me up till 1, then Grace promptly at 1:06... Klaire at 1:33.  Rotate and repeat every half hour till 4am.  Not a good night.  I'm trying to chalk it up to the little cold they both have...or the fact that it was simply due since they've been sleeping pretty well the last few days...even bordering on me thinking they are finally acclimated to their new beds.  Things are better...usually it's just once a night-each, and they just need to be covered back up.  Any tips on this?...in their cribs they didn't feel the need to be covered, or maybe did it themselves.  It's not cold in their room and they wear footed pajamas, if anything they are bordering on warm...it's probably yet another habit I need to break.  Kids, they are such a mystery!

My trusty book says that as long as they are staying in their beds (which they are for the most part Klaire got out once last night and 30 seconds of the door shut stopped that) we should use yet another chart to basically let them cry in intervals 5 minutes-comfort, 10 minutes-comfort, 15 minutes-comfort and so on every night upping the time they cry to teach them to get themselves back to sleep.  However I find it's easier on all of us to just go in there and squelch the problem before the other gets woken up.  I don't like the thought of them laying in their beds without covers on:( so I go cover them up and I'm outta there. Sort of a catch 22, but not typically a problem, until you get a night like last night where they are both up and seemingly NOT TIRED.

What a boring topic!

I should update on the girls new found love. The Alphabet!  Every letter they see or hear is exciting.  They see letters they know in the books we read and are SO proud of themselves when they can identify them.  They find letters while we drive and their favorite one is the Kum & Go right by our house they say "K Klaire, G Grace!" What a funny coincidence!
They still don't sing the whole alphabet, but I find they can identify most letters.  They have a couple puzzles and are getting really good at remembering the order and object that the letter stands for.  This has all been in the last couple weeks. Little sponges!  Speaking of Grace repeats EVERYTHING we say. Everything. She mostly has no idea what she's saying, but loves to see our faces when she repeats a whole sentence.  It's definitely time for daddy to edit his words while watching football.

How old are your twins? Mine turn 2 next month, and just started repeating words. Funny, but indeed daddy need to watch his language a bit (basketball in our case).
