the shee shee dance and other shenanigans

Quite the title eh? Only fitting because we have quite the night last night with our little girls!  Em came over (our guilty pleasure of watching DVR'd Bach.elor on Monday nights after the girls go to bed) and got to witness the most hilarious bath night I've ever seen. The girls were completely riled up and add aunt em to the mix, they got downright goofy!   Klaire was doing some kind of a dance that can only be described as a cross between a country ho-down and african hunting dance.  She would  swing her little arms and then put her hand on her knees and rock back and forth all while saying shee shee (who knows what that means?) and to top it off it ended with one of her long 'ol legs kicked straight out to the side and the goofiest look on her face. She did this over and over! If I would have had a video camera ready we'd be $10,000 richer. Em can vouch for me, we could not stop laughing. Then she got Grace doing a version of it and it was a good half hour of fun:)

The other shenanigans, you ask? Everyone told me this would happen...and leave it to last night for them to try it. After the most hilarious bath of all time I finally got them a little settled down and tucked into bed. They always talk to each other at night and I usually have to go up there at least once to remind them "no talkin" as they say, but last night there was some serious giggling going on. I paused the Bach.elor (btw what is he thinking???) and found them both in Klaire's bed, all cozy, 4 pillows, 2 teddys, 2 babydolls, 49 blankets, and giggling away. It. was. so. sweet. ...and reminded me of this. To see the two of them, who are usually are hitting, biting, scratching, stealing toys, and downright driving each other crazy- getting along that well on their own free will, was heart melting and brought me hope they they will be great friends some day:)  Of course  I had to be the mean mommy and break up the party.  We worked too hard on this nighttime routine to have them think they can play at bedtime!

I will try to get the shee shee dance on tape, no one should be denied seeing that little gem of a dance:)

How fun to have seen that after-bath show! Yes, it needs to be preserved on tape. And I can just imagine the 2 of them in bed - what a sweet vision. Hard to break up the party, but glad you got to see it!

Love reading about your girls! Those curls are to die for! Thinking about moving my 2 year olds to big girl beds. Any tips for me?

Thanks so much! I'm hoping to make the big switch in the next couple of weeks-or whenever I get brave enough! Did you go straight to beds or start on a mattress on the floor? I'm sure we have some long nights ahead of us!

Have you gotten a video of the dance yet? Your description cracked me up. How funny! :)

Have you heard of "Hip Hop Baby"? A friend of mine told me about it so I ordered it on Amazon. Ayla LOVES it. If your girls like to dance, you need to get it. I got the "All Your Child's Favorites,"...it seemed to get the best reviews. They teach them various things (alphabet, numbers, Simon Says, etc.) while dancing. It's hilarious to watch Ayla follow along.
