sad sad sad

When I called to make my yearly OB appt., the receptionist said Dr. K was out indefinitely. That's not good wording...and not good news:( I made an appt with another for this one and hoped she'd be ok for the next.

This morning I got the news that she died of cancer. She was an amazing doctor and I trusted her with my life...and the lives of my girls. I have many memories of Dr. K. from her reaction to telling Brian we were pregnant with twins, to her making me be strong through those hours of Mag. She checked on me every day even though I was basically comatose. She had a way about her...not always sugary sweet (ok, I never knew her to be sugary sweet:) but had a calm smarts and true love for her incredibly important job, that you couldn't help but grow to love.  Every time I go back to the office I bring in pictures of the girls for the nurses, etc...and she always kept them, and tucked them away in my file:)

She delivered the girls (two out of the estimated 3,000 babies she delivered!) on 4:47 and 4:48am that hot Wednesday morning in July, and I'll be forever grateful. Rest in Peace Dr. Kratoska, you are greatly missed.

Oh Erika, I'm so sorry to hear the sad news. There's definitely a special connection that we share with the doctors that brought our babies into the world.

I can't imagine. I agree, it is definetely a special connection with a Dr. who delivers your baby especially your twins. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
