they really do love me
I feel like I haven't updated...like really updated, in a long time. Someday the girls are going to ask me what they were up to the end of summer and fall of 2010 and I will have no idea:) Yah probably not, they won't care and I really have no idea the reason for the lack of posts. I guess sometimes I don't feel much like writing. They are really growing up though, like little girls, more than 3 year olds. Grace especially reminds me of a little old lady in the way she chats, and bosses people around, and has to have things "just so." Klaire is much more laid back ,and really she always has been. She rarely gets upset, but if she does it's usually because something is not fair in her eyes. She's so laid back that wearing a pull up does not bother her one bit, no matter what tactic we try. hmph.
They both continue to have major MAJOR issues with leaving places..especially grandparents houses, and even occasionally daycare. I seriously get anxious lately when we have to leave anywhere, so silly. Grace especially likes to have her day laid out for her (just like me) but if she doesn't like/agree with one part of it she'll go ahead and have the fit in the morning, I guess to get to over with :) It's a joy. This morning she wanted Grandma to pick her up from daycare. Sorry-not today, you're stuck with me kid :)...she had a major tantrum in the middle of the kitchen floor while eating her apple jacks about something that was to occur approx. 9 hours from then. Amazing! If nothing else, the child has passion.
I can say they have a love hate relationship with me right now. They either need me and no one else will do or they really can't stand me. I like the former better than the latter and thankfully that happens most often. I know there was a time when I begged them to latch on to someone else, but when it happens, or they tell from the back seat that "my NO LIKE mommy," it hurts. Seriously, it hurts my feelings. I was on the phone with Brian the other day crying because they were ganging up on me telling me they didn't like me. Ha! Get a grip Erika!
As far as their new "tricks"...they can both sing the alphabet and several other songs, which can most often be heard before they fall asleep at night which is oh so sweet. I can definitly tell they are in the more preschool part of daycare now because they come home with lots of tunes! Counting is still a bit of a struggle, but most of the time we are up to 10 with no problems...after that numbers like "eleventeen" start getting created. Klaire likes you to quiz her to the tune of "if I have two ___ and you give me one more, or take away..., how many will I have?" She gets this right most every time, but only in increments of one. Still math in my book people! I am quite certain they will outsmart me in about 2nd grade.
They Love love love the Toy Story movies which they have seen One and Two. Woody and Buzz are fast favorites. Halloween this year will be all about the Toy Story. Can anyone guess who Grace wants to be? Think hard. I'm making their costumes and can't wait to see them in them!
Anyway, that's the update. They are amazing little girls and everyone else tells me completely well behaved, I guess that's when it matters. i read somewhere that sometimes kids tell you they love you by feeling comfortable enough to let loose, good and bad, around you because they know you'll love them back-either way.
Well, they sure must love me:)
