preschool stuff

Things are going well at preschool.  Drop off is fine with a little nudge they go with no problem:) Pickup they still look a bit worn out and overwhelmed.  Overall they want to go back each day and talk about the other kids and teachers all the time. Grace tells me every day that she's the line leader, probably not true, but cute that she thinks so.  Klaire has one friend in particular, that she talks about frequently and loves to have a friend that Grace doesn't:) The teachers would like them to interact with the other kids more, and I think that will come in time.  I hope!  It's a good thing we put them in separate classes, or there would have been no way! I always thought I would keep them together for Kindergarten, but am re-thinking that now.  It's good for them to be on their own, have their own friends and identity.  They aren't even big on the whole twin thing, and if you ask them if they are twins...they aren't sure.  I'm fine with that!

I think the no nap thing is getting to them though.  They hardly ever actually sleep at nap time, but the resting part is good for them.  With this new schedule they don't get that, and I can tell in their moods especially in the morning.  Especially this morning.  It was ugly.  No amount of reasoning, or I hate to admit bargaining was going to help with the disaster that was Klaire and Grace this morning. Didn't want to get up let alone get dressed (nothing was just right).  Brushing hair might as well be torture for Klaire and I swear the neighbors can hear her scream.  I got called many names with their version of cuss words for which they went on time out many many times, and this was all between 6:45-7:30. Yikes. I always feel bad dropping them off at daycare after we've had a bad morning. Mommy guilt 101.

So I think we'll work on getting to bed earlier (like right at 8 again), which will be easier in the Fall and Winter when it's not so light out.  Come on Fall and Winter!!!!

Oh, it makes me feel better to read about your difficult morning. Sorry to hear BUT I'm so thankful I'm not alone. Sometimes we need to hear about struggles of other parents. We will survive, right??!! Kennedy goes back to preschool after Labor Day. We can't wait!
