We had an eventful weekend! Saturday morning I took some newborn pictures, then later that afternoon we headed over to Nikki's mom's graduation party (congrats Andie!). The girls and Gabe got to go to a "big kid play" thanks to Aunt Nikki and they had so much fun with Grandpa and Grandma! I wish I would have taken a picture of them all dressed up, they even got to wear their name necklaces they got for their birthday a couple years ago. Hot to Trot!
Sunday morning, more cousin time.
We got home and planted our garden for the year. I think we might finally have it down...as far as spacing and what to plant where. We will see I guess! It poured rain last night so I hope nothing got too drowned.
I ended up with a terrible migraine after the garden fun and was trying to get rid of it on the couch when I heard a commotion in the kitchen. Grace came running to me with blood on her hands. I thought she but her hand somehow, but then realized it was gushing out of her head and had soaked her shirt! Fun! She had jumped up on the kitchen counter and sliced her head on the sharp corner of the cabinet. I tried for about 20 minutes to get it to stop bleeding but soon realized this warranted a trip to the Urgent Care. She did fantastic, while I tried not to be sick with my migraine. They opted not to do staples and since it was small and did something called a "hair tourniquet." She basically took hair from each side of the cut and tied it together a million times, creating quite the knot and a suture of sorts. Fantastic! Grace was all drama, but no tears. She informed me that she can't be running around all crazy because of "her injury" This kid! We learned not to jump on the kitchen counter.
I thought I'd post a link to this technique they did, here it's called something different than what the doc said, but same idea...

Oh my goodness, poor Grace! And poor you, having to deal with a scary wound & trip to Urgent Care as your migraine is going on! First time I have heard of stopping the bleeding like that - will have to pass that along in Health class. How is she today?
