2 Months

 

 Two months have flown! I wasn't sure I'd survive the first one, but the second brought some relief in the way of sleeping...more on that later:)  The best part is Henry is a smiley little guy these days and he loves to show off his new talent.  He thinks most things we say are pretty hilarious and once while blowing raspberries on his tummy I even thought I heard a giggle.  His big open mouthed smile reminds me a lot of Grace. He likes to watch the girls run around and stares at them in awe when they get close.  They still want to be SO close and kissing on him, it makes this mama a little nervous being cold and flu season, but KNOCK ON WOOD no one has been sick yet.  That said, we start daycare next week, so cross your fingers.  At least he has some extra "fluff" as Nancy calls it to back him up just in case.  We still don't really have a nap or feeding schedule for that matter established, in time. Now on to sleep, nights are a little less hectic and we usually get 4-5 hours stretches out of him. Woo hoo! I started putting him to bed at 8 instead of 9 and occasionally he will sleep 5 and ONE time 6.5 hours.  I of course was not taking advantage of this and was awake wondering why he was sleeping so long!?  Just last night he gave me a huge 2 month present and slept all night! From 8-5:30AM. It was very strange and he was happy as a clam when he woke up!!! I try not to obsess over the sleep thing and just go to bed at 8 (yes our whole house is in bed at 8PM these days) and realize he's still very young and needs to eat.  During the day he can finally go 3 hours, so that is nice too. Sometimes in the evening he still thinks every 2 hours is best. (OMG I totally just typed breast HA!) His nicknames at this point are Chunk-a-Monk, Sweet Boy, and Klaire still calls him "Hen". And lastly, his legs are amazing. I love changing his diapers so I can sqeeze those roly poly things!  It's hard to get a picture that's not x-rated, but I will try. It's too funny. We are SO blessed to have this sweet boy in our lives, he was just the baby we needed to complete our family and rock our world a little:)

Henry had his 2 month appt with Dr. U. He weighs 13lbs 14oz! Holy moly, I was thinking 12.  That's the 91% for weight...he's just in the 30% for height, but Dr. U said that's not really reliable yet as he's all scrunched up still.  He did great until doc looked in his ears, and I had flashbacks to Klaire turning all red and SCREAMING.  He did better with the 3 shots in his fattie legs.  Brian got to come with me and I'm not sure he's ever seem a shot appt.  He didn't like it. :) Overall, he's a healthy baby boy and "getting enough calories" yay!
