8 months came and went with little fanfare....but 8.5 months has been exciting!!! Henry is a crawling machine! His knees are red by the end of the day and he is getting fast! About a day after he learned to crawl he pulled himself up on the ottoman with the biggest "did I just do that!?" grin on his face. We are investing in gates and rearranged the furniture in the family room to give him more space to roam. What baby wants...
Just a couple days ago I randomly felt in his mouth and came across a tiny sharp start of a tooth! That would explain the couple low grade temps he's had in the mornings...and some overall crankiness that he usually doesn't have. He hasn't bit me...yet.
I haven't mentioned this little tidbit yet because I didn't want to jinx us, but since the beginning of June and his 5th(ish) ear infection, we've been taking Henry to a chiropractor. Gasp! I know. It's not something I would usually go for, but after my millionth facebook post about another ear infection, so many friends suggested it that I researched it a bit. I was so tired of him being on constant and strong antibiotics...and tubes were becoming a real and fast approaching solution. I happen to take pictures for a wonderful family, and the dad is a chiro. His kids are delightful, and in one piece...so I trust him. :) We had a long telephone conversation and hesitantly I scheduled an appt. He said he sees improvement in 70% of cases. We started out going 2-3 times a week, he did not love it at first, and it's a bit alarming to hear the "adjusting." He tolerates it ok now doesn't even cry one bit. We're down to every 2-3 weeks now. Guess what...
HE HAS NOT HAD ONE EAR INFECTION SINCE WE STARTED!
He's had colds, probably 3, and I've taken him in just sure there's a problem, but the ears are always clear. Now this may be circumstance, and it may be age, or time of year. Who knows, but so far. I'm a believer.
Henry is an absolute joy. I can say that this baby has stolen my heart just like the girls did 6 years ago. You think you are full to the brim with blessings and love, then along come another. We are so blessed. Speaking of, we are on night 3 of sleeping 10+ hours! Woooo hooooo!
