15 months
Henry is 15 months and is a little ball of fire lately! He's learned how to run and loves to dance. He climbs and falls a lot too. He's very active and all boy. We had his well check up yesterday and all is well. He's very short (1%) but doc says not to worry (ha). Doc literally said he does not have dwarfism because he knew I was worrying. I personally think he'll hit a spurt at some point, but I guess if he doesn't he'll just be our stocky boy:) He weighs 22.5 pounds, so more average there but still not huge. He still eats well (except decided he hates peas!), and drinks milk like no tomorrow so we're happy with that. Speaking of milk...no more mama milk for this dude. I'm happy to say he totally self weaned about a week ago. I know you're all tired of hearing about this but I must document. We were down to just before bed time and he started to become less and less interested. One night he had a really stuffy nose and completely refused, so we read a book and rocked for a bit and he went to bed just fine. The next few nights it was hit and miss...then the last night I knew there was really nothing there and he kind of looked at me like, uh, mom I'm done, so we were done :) We have a new routine of books with a sippy of milk, rocking, singing, and to bed. I'm so happy that there have been no tears and still 12 hours of sleep at night. I feel incredibly blessed.
Anyway, he's saying a couple new words: ball, mommy (not mama), puppy, and bye bye occasionally. That's about all the ones he will say but he knows and will point to many things. When he wants the girls it's a special hand gesture and grunt :) We have a bit of stranger danger especially at the doctor. He knows they look in those ears and it's just not fun. I always wish they would show the doctor their cute, fun side instead of all that screaming. Oh well. He had a darn ear infection, the first since JUNE, and croupy cough the other day so that was a bummer. We did steroid breathing treatments and now he's good as new. He has 6 teeth with #7 on the way. The other night when Brian could take no more the the wings of hair over his ears we gave him a quick trim. He looks much older and more sophisticated now! He loves to throw balls, drive cars, knock down blocks stacked by the girls, and give kisses to his stuffed animals.
15 months sounds pretty old to me...at least he's still a mamas boy and will let me cuddle and rock him. That will probably be weird when he's 15 right? I'll try to remember not to do that.
